Senior
Things went as expected (or at least as I expected as I went 7-0 on Tuesday....ahem!) in WCSSAA play last night.
Bluevale, Cameron Heights, and WCI all posted double-digit victories to remain atop the standings with 5-0 records. The Knights and Gaels will face-off on Thursday (3:30pm).
Here's yesterday's results and current standings:
Forest Heights 43, Glenview Park 26
My Pick: FHCI
The Trojans continue to add to the win column (again, they won only once last year). As usual, Blair McNaughton led the way for them with 21 points while Hannah Poole added 8. GPSS received 10 from Alyssa Goodridge and 6 from Jennifer Renton.
Bluevale 49, Galt 25
My Pick: BCI
The Knights are at 5-0 in WCSSAA play, backed by 15 from Shannon Curran and 10 from Natalie Bishop. The Ghosts received 6 each from Milica Stevanovic and Allie Buchanan.
Jacob Hespeler 49, Grand River 30
My Pick: JHSS
The Rens' early-season struggles continue at the hands of the Jacob Hespeler Hawks. Naomi Adams netted 12 and Taylor Dennis 11 in the victory; GRCI had a game-high 15 from Kailey DeBoer and 4 from Kristann Weins.
Cameron Heights 48, Huron Heights 24
My Pick: CHCI
The Gaels doubled up the Huskies and got another huge scoring effort from Liz McLellan in the process (25 points). Ashanti Lewis was also in double figures for Cameron with 12, while HHHS received 8 from Emily Bidinosti and 5 from Rebecca Jackson.
Southwood 34, SJAM 16
My Pick: SSS
The Sabres got it done defensively and took care of the 'Landers on Tuesday. Kayleigh Hutt-Taylor had 12 and Angela McLean 5 for SSS, while Julia Deakin led SJAM with 4.
WCI 56, Elmira 33
My Picks: WCI & Elmira +36
The Lancers kept things "respectable" against the heavy WCSSAA favourites. Krista Wiens had a strong effort for EDSS with 17, while Meghan McGlone added 6. Lindsay Taylor (16) and Lindsay Lessard (15) topped the WCI scoresheet.
Eastwood 41, KCI 21
My Pick: ECI
Michelle Hudyn didn't need more than 16 on Tuesday as the Rebels eased past KCI. Erika Gardiner added 9 more for ECI, while Christiana Koebel had double-digits for KCI (10).
Bye Win: Preston (4-1) --- there is an error on the WCSSAA website as the "20-0" score was entered incorrectly, so Preston is shown as "3-2". The correct standings are below:

Junior
In the junior ranks, a noticeable score was Huron Heights picking up their first win at the expense of the CHCI Golden Gaels, who were 3-1 heading into that affair. Meanwhile, the Elmira Lancers gave the first-place WCI Vikings a run for their money (falling 41-38), and Grand River was knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten by the JHSS Hawks in another close affair (35-30).
