Tuesday's CWOSSA Results

A slow day in CWOSSA after the Thanksgiving holiday, but we can pass along the results of a couple (generally rescheduled) games that were played on Tuesday.  However, the D10 junior league did have a full slate of action.

WCSSAA

Senior:  Eastwood 56, Grand River 42
My Pick:  ECI
The Renegades gave a strong effort on Tuesday, and had this one within single digits with about 2:00 to play.  However, the Rebels, backed by Michelle Hudyn's 32 points were able to close it out.  Caitlyn Schlegel had 11 more for ECI, while Kailey DeBoer had the top GRCI effort with 18.  The win moves ECI to 4-2, while GRCI drops to 1-5.

Junior:  Grand River 36, Eastwood 24
The Rens stayed near the top of the WCSSAA heap, improving to 5-1 with a 12-point win at home.  They were able to withstand an 18-point effort from ECI's Mel Samuel, while Mackenzie Miller had 9 to lead Grand River.

D10 - Senior

Centennial 38, Orangeville 29
My Pick:  CCVI
The Spartans win this game between winless clubs, thanks to 12 from Kenda Achonwa and 10 from Odessa Grant-Esco.  Claire Fenton had a game-high 14 for ODSS.

Bishop Mac 50, Guelph CVI 31
My Pick:  BMAC
Tesha Kraszkiewicz poured home 20 points, while Rebecca Keil added 10 for the Celtics as they improved to 6-1 on the season.  Jamie Young (8), Sidney Vaughan (6) and Julia Busato (6) led the Gaels.

D10 - Junior

St. James 32, Lourdes 15
In a matchup between two 6-0 teams, the Lions controlled this one on the defensive end en route to the win.  Chelsey Gazzola (13) and Nastassja Herriot (6) led the way for STJ, while Monica Trimble (7) and Alanna Toms (4) topped the Lourdes scoring.

Centennial 45, Orangeville 37
Emma Korol and Hannah Newman chipped in 11 each as the Spartans continue to solidify their hold on one of the "AAAA" CWOSSA berths.  Rachel Adams (game-high 18) and Jessica Gut (7) topped the ODSS scoring.

Centre Wellington 32, JF Ross 30
The Falcons barely got by the Ross Royals at home, thanks to double-digit efforts from Kristen Gora and Madison Fennell (10 each).  Steph Gordon had 10 for Ross.

Bishop Mac 51, Guelph CVI 35
The Celts continued their strong play in defeating GCVI.  Anna de Lange (11) and Mackenzie Bernhardt (8) led the way for BMAC, while Sydney Wilson and Ijeoma Stauton had 10 each for the Gaels.
