The St. Benedict Saints and the St. Mary's Eagles broke out the brooms on Wednesday, sweeping both ends of their junior-senior doubleheaders with the Woodland Cavaliers and Rockway Flames, respectively.
Senior
On the senior side, St. Benedict got a challenge from the Flames but prevailed in a 36-27 final. SBCSS F/C Hilary Ferguson was huge inside, pouring in a 25-point performance, the second highest registered total in the D8 league this season. Emma Kschesinski had 10 to lead RMC.
Meanwhile, St. Mary's won handily over Woodland in a 50-13 game. Sydney Greulich scored 12, while Monica Januszek and Laura Kay added 8. Rebekah Oosterhof and Kristin Reitsma netted 6 each for WCHS.

Junior
After being shutout against St. David last week, the PRDG Chevaliers put up a much better offensive performance against the top team in the league, the Resurrection Phoenix, scoring 19 points in a 56-19 defeat.
Celia McGlynn led Rez with 18, while Kelsey Caza chipped in 8. Kristine Boileau (11) and Ciara Kok (4) were the top PRDG performers.
Speaking of St. David, they got 27 points from star Bobbie-Sue Hentges in a 42-29 win over Monsignor Doyle. Megan Goar, Heather Sandall and Abby Howard had 4 more each for the Celts, while Victoria Borroso had 14 and Yasmine Smith 11 for MDCSS.
Becca Stewart netted 12 points as St. Mary's rolled past Woodland 35-19. Julianna Thompson had 8 to lead the Cavaliers.
In the final junior contest on Wednesday, St. Benedict defeated Rockway 50-19. Scorers were not reported in that one.
