WCSSAA Junior: Thursday Results

No surprises on Thursday in WCSSAA junior girls basketball action, as the teams at the top of the standings continued to roll, even (already) clinching playoff spots in some instances.

Here's how things went:

Cameron Heights 34, Forest Heights 31
A tough battle, as expected, between these two 5-1 teams but the Gaels were able to pull it out at home thanks to the strong play (in particular) of Nina Farkic.  Scoring details weren't immediately available.

WCI 39, Bluevale 25
The Vikes move to 6-1 at the expense of the Knights (4-3).  Olivia Bender (11), Dani Sauve (8) and Kaitlyn Bentz (8) paced WCI, while Megan Reid (8), Rachael Hamm (5) and Cassie Maxwell (5) were the top BCI scorers.

Huron Heights 30, Glenview Park 23
Kiana Chin had a nice game, pouring in 19 for the Huskies as they increased their playoff chances with a win against Glenview.  Katie Krulicki had 8 and Emilie Lutz 6 for GPSS.

Jacob Hespeler 41, Galt 38
An exciting all-Cambridge battle went the way of the Hawks, with Jasmine Ramcharan leading the way for them on this night with 14 and Shianne Riggan adding 12.  Erin Wilson (14) and Emily Cureton (12) measured the point totals of the JHSS leaders for Galt.

KCI 41, Preston 14
No trouble for the Raiders on the road against Preston, with Michaela Schlumberger netting 9 and Amy Graves 7 in the win.  Jess Hedges (5) and Avery Levert (3) led the way for the Panthers.

Grand River 47, SJAM 28
The CWOSSA #1 Rens continue to roll, this time against a very solid SJAM squad.   Caroline Lorkovic and Nyosha Mombeshora had 10 each for GR, while Perry Gasteiger netted 12 and Taylor Trush 9 for the 'Landers.

Bye Wins:  EDSS (SSS); WODSS (ECI).
