CWOSSABasketball.com Senior Power Rankings: Week 3

Like the junior rankings, not much maneuvering at the top of the Power Rankings for this week, as WCI, Assumption and St. John's are all in the top 3.

The big mover on the week was the Waterloo-Oxford Crusaders, who jump up to 4th overall after strong league performances as well as an impressive effort against the #2-ranked Assumption Lions.

Here's my thoughts this week:

1.  Waterloo CI Vikings / Waterloo
Last Week:  #1
A couple more easy league wins, and a strong tournament performance in Hamilton have the Vikes atop the CWOSSABasketball.com power rankings for the 3rd consecutive week.

2.  Assumption College Lions / Brantford
Last Week:  #2 (Tie)
Moved the Lions ahead of the St. John's Green Eagles after last week's strong effort at the Centennial Tournament --- including wins over WODSS and Rez, both "top 10" teams this week.

3.  St. John's College Green Eagles / Brantford
Last Week:  #2 (Tie)
The Eagles got a strong performance in a 50-35 league win over #8 North Park.  Not much separates them from the #2 Lions, as their league game (OT) will tell you.

4.  Waterloo-Oxford DSS Crusaders / Baden
Last Week:  #6
Although they are young (all grade 11 starters), the Crusaders still have a chance to make some noise this year, as evidenced by their perfect league record and strong tournament results.

5.  Jacob Hespeler SS Hawks / Cambridge (AAA)
Last Week:  #7
The Hawks soared to victory at the Bishop Mac tournament over the weekend; key wins there included a semifinal win over Bishop Mac and a championship final win over another D10 school, Guelph Lourdes.

6.  Bluevale CI Knights / Waterloo
Last Week:  #4
The Knights slipped up a bit last weekend, but regained their stride in league play as they maintained their perfect record through 2 more games this week.

7.  Bishop Macdonell HS Celtics / Guelph (AA)
Last Week:  #5
Big game coming up for the Celts on Tuesday, as they'll travel to #9 Lourdes to play the "other unbeaten" team in D10 play.

8.  North Park CVS Trojans / Brantford (AAA)
Last Week:  #8
Lost in all the D5 talk of Assumption and St. John's, the North Park Trojans are a pretty solid club themselves and a certain contender for another "AAA" title.

9.  Our Lady of Lourdes HS Crusaders / Guelph (AA)
Last Week:  #9
The Crusaders came close to Jacob Hespeler this past weekend after beating JF Ross in a hard-fought semifinal; unfortunately, I can't quite bump them up yet but a win against BMAC on Tuesday would certainly do that.

10 (Tie).  Cameron Heights CI Golden Gaels / Kitchener
Last Week:  10
The Gaels easily handled winless Galt and Eastwood this week; things will get tougher starting next week with Forest Heights and then WCI on the horizon.

10 (Tie).  Resurrection CSS Phoenix / Kitchener
Last Week:  NR
The D8's top squad is undefeated in league play and has won each of those games by 20+ points.  We'll see what St. Mary's and St. Benedict have to say about it, but right now they have a solid grip on the D8's "AAAA" CWOSSA berth.

Honourable Mentions / "On The Radar"
John F. Ross / Guelph
St. James / Guelph
Southwood / Kitchener
Kitchener CI
Forest Heights / Kitchener
