CWOSSABasketball.com Junior Power Rankings: Week 3

There's not much shifting at the top of the CWOSSA Power Rankings this week.

The long "minor change" comes with North Park taking the #2 spot (previously:  T2) and St. John's dropping to 3rd (previously:  T2) as a result of North Park's 46-41 league win earlier this week.  With Assumption also being a very strong team in Brant County, there are certainly some more games worth watching as we go forward.

Without further delay, let's get to it:

1.  Grand River CI Renegades / Kitchener
Last Week:  #1
The Rens got pushed by Bluevale yesterday, but still maintained their perfect mark with a 51-43 victory.  Can anyone get closer than that in league play?

2.  North Park CVS Trojans / Brantford (AAA)
Last Week:  #2 (Tie)
North Park's win over St. John's vaults them into sole possession of second place this week.

3.  St. John's College Green Eagles / Brantford
Last Week:  #2 (Tie)
The Gaels are a serious contender for both the D5 and CWOSSA "AAAA" titles; rebounded from Tuesday's loss to NPC by holding Paris DHS to just 5 points.

4.  Waterloo Collegiate Vikings / Waterloo
Last Week:  #4
The Vikes got past SJAM and KCI (another top-10 team) this week in league play to maintain their hold on the 4th overall spot.

5.  Bishop Macdonell HS Celtics / Guelph
Last Week:  #5
The Celts are still atop the D10 standings with Guelph CVI; both squads have 5-1 records but the Celts dumped the Gaels by 14 in their league meeting.

6.  Assumption College Lions / Brantford
Last Week:  #6
Two league losses to two of my top-3 CWOSSA teams; otherwise the Lions have been perfect in D5 play, and have looked solid in tournament action.

7.  Elmira DSS Lancers / Elmira
Last Week:  #7
The Lancers won their home tournament and picked up 2 league wins in a perfect week.  They actually don't have any league games next week as their scheduled date will be a "bye win" against Southwood.

8.  Guelph CVI Gaels / Guelph (AAA)
Last Week:  #9
The Gaels dumped CWDHS yesterday to stay tied record-wise with Bishop Mac at 5-1 in D10 play.  Right now, I have them as the second-rated "AAA" school behind North Park, although KCI and Guelph St. James is certainly in the mix as well.

9.   Kitchener CI Raiders / Kitchener (AAA)
Last Week:  #8
The Raiders rebounded from a loss to the WCI Vikings to handle Huron Heights with ease on the road.  Their upcoming league schedule is fairly light, so I certainly see the Raiders at 9-1 heading into a game against Bluevale on October 25th.

T10.  Resurrection CSS Phoenix / Kitchener
Last Week:  #10 (Tie)
The Phoenix are atop the D8 standings with a spotless mark, and maintain their spot in the top-10 for another week at least.  Celia McGlynn is off to a great start for the Rez juniors.

T10.  Bluevale Collegiate Knights / Waterloo
Last Week:  NR
The Knights are a new entry into this week's top 10 after their strong league showing (4-2) and a respectable single-digit loss to the top-ranked Renegades.

Dropped Out:  St. James/Guelph (Last Week:  #10 - Tie)

Honourable Mentions / "On The Radar"
St. James / Guelph
SJAM / Waterloo
St. Benedict / Cambridge
Forest Heights / Kitchener
Lourdes / Guelph
JF Ross / Guelph
St. David / Waterloo
