Player Profile: Cameron Heights' Vedran Dmitrovic

Here's a video look-in at one of the top shooters in CWOSSA, Cameron Heights' guard Vedran Dmitrovic.

Dmitrovic, who was a WCSSAA all-star last year (as well as one of my "All-CWOSSA" selections), is back for his 5th and final season as a Cameron Heights Golden Gael.

Aside from his individual accolades, he's also accumulated a lot of team hardware as well, having led Cameron to four tournament championships last season, and he also helped his squad to the WCSSAA and CWOSSA "AAAA" titles during the 2010-11 campaign.

The 6'0" guard isn't afraid of the big shot either, as evidenced by this:

And this:

"I'm very excited for the upcoming season to start," said Dmitrovic.  "We're hoping to be among the top teams in the league this year as we have everyone except one player (Djordje Malesevic) returning."

Jason Thompson, Nem Simic, Terell Christian, and Vlad Matovic are among the key returnees for this year's CHCI squad, who appear on paper to be among a group of teams that will try to knock off favoured WCI for the league crown.

As for Dmitrovic, he's also looking forward to what comes beyond his high school career.  The student-athlete maintains a solid average in the classroom, and is already looking ahead to several opportunities.

"I've been in touch with several CIS schools, as well as a couple D-1 (Elon) and D-2 schools," said Dmitrovic.

"However, I have my sights set on studying and playing locally, perhaps at the University of Waterloo," he added.
