CWOSSA teams and players will be a part of a couple of worthwhile events this coming weekend.
CWDHS Tripleheader Tonight
Firstly, Centre Wellington DHS in Fergus is playing host to a "tripleheader" this evening ($6 admission; proceeds to CWDHS' Aboriginal Centre).
The games start at 4pm, with Elmira DSS playing Centre Wellington in a senior girls' game. Interestingly enough, CW's coach (Keith Cressman's) nieces will be suiting up for Elmira in that one.
This will be followed by University of Guelph (women's and men's) exhibition games. On the women's side, Gryphons' star recruit Erica McFadden will be making her return home to CW, where she helped lead the Falcons to back-to-back D10 titles.
Wildhawks in Toronto
The Wildhawk "AAU" U-19 team will be in Toronto playing the "Triple Threat" AAU team prior to a York University exhibition game against Marietta College on Sunday (12pm approx tip time).
Announced/confirmed team members participating for the 'Hawks this weekend include Josh Johnson (Holy Trinity/Simcoe); Jesse Kendall (Bishop Mac/Guelph); Javon Masters (SJK/Breslau); Vedran Dmitrovic (Cameron Heights/Kitchener); Chuder Teny (Grand River/Kitchener); John Efechaobor (Bluevale/Waterloo); Dani Elgadi (Waterloo CI/Waterloo); Adam Voll (SJK/Breslau); and Malcolm Piazza (Waterloo CI/Waterloo).
Coaches Aaron Tomlin and Scott Reynolds will man the sidelines.
Jacob Ranton (Waterloo CI/Waterloo) is on a visit to Memorial University in Newfoundland so will not be with his usual Wildhawk squad this weekend.
