Not much separates these squads, as evidenced by their above rankings as well as their first D5 meeting of the year, a 51-49 overtime win for Assumption.
Today's game is over at St. John's (7pm tip time), and it looks as though Assumption will be without at least one -- if not two -- key players.
Top reserve (6th woman) Alex Van Dyk, who was their second leading scorer last time around against St. John's, will not be in the lineup tonight after having her wisdom teeth removed.
Also, leading scorer Abby Heron has been battling an ankle injury (having missed the previous two games) and will be a game-time decision depending on how she feels during warmups.
Meanwhile, St. John's is looking for some revenge on their homecourt and will be looking to take advantage of those (potential) absences from Assumption.
I think the edge goes to St. John's at home, so I'll go with the Green Eagles by 5, assuming that Heron plays in this one.
