WCSSAA Senior: Panthers Pick Up Big Win At Home Over KCI

Went 7-1 on the day yesterday, with the Preston Panthers picking up a BIG win at home over the KCI Raiders, in a game where I had tabbed the Raiders by 6.

At least I was correct in stating that the Panthers "are better than their 2-4 record".

KCI couldn't contain Preston star Ashley White, who went off for 25 points in a 44-37 victory.  Hayley McGoldrick added 8 for the Panthers, while Christiana Koebel (12) and Maddie LaFleur (9) led the way for the Raiders.

Let's look at the other scores on Thursday:

Cameron Heights 63, Forest Heights 47
My Pick:  CHCI by 19
Hunter Johns and Liz McLellan had matching 21-point efforts to lead CHCI to victory on Thursday.  Blair McNaughton had a game-high 26 for the Trojans.

WODSS 54, Eastwood 22
My Pick:  WODSS by 36
Maddy Horst (12) and Alisha Glendinning (12) improved the Crusaders to 7-0 for the first time in a long time.  Caitlyne Rysdale and Mel Samuel had 6 each for the Rebels.

WCI 57, Bluevale 29
My Pick:  WCI by 15
The CWOSSA #1 ranked Vikes easily handled undefeated Bluevale on this afternoon, with Lindsay Taylor scoring 13 and Alex Klein adding 9.  Grade 10s Julia Curran (8) and Kailee Sawyer (7) led Bluevale's scoring effort.

Huron Heights 36, Glenview Park 16
My Pick:  HHHS by 5
The Huskies locked down on defense and pulled away from the Panthers to grab their first win.  Jenna Gangl poured in 19, while Aly Jacobs added 9 for Huron; Dayna Good had 8 and Tiana Barfoot 4 for Glenview.

Jacob Hespeler 45, Galt 23
My Pick:  JHSS by 29
Jacob Hespeler's Brook (18) and Candice (11) Wright led the way on Thursday, while Allie Buchanan had 7 and Carissa Grove 4 for GCI.

Grand River 48, SJAM 32
My Pick:  GRCI by 4
Kailey DeBoer had a solid 17-point outing as the Renegades picked up an important road win.  Leticia Skeete added 8 for the Rens, while Safina Husein (8) and Malena McCrossan-Moses (7) topped the SJAM scoresheet.

Southwood 37, Elmira 23
My Pick:  SSS by 8
Taylor White had 15 and Nicole Barnard 8, along with a nice defensive effort, as they contained Elmira on Thursday.  Amy Hachman had 6 and Jocelyn Lubert 5 for the Lancers.
