The junior and senior Resurrection Phoenix are still perfect in D8 play after a Wednesday sweep of the Woodland Cavaliers.
The senior (52-22) win handled Woodland their first loss of the season, and put Rez in solid control of the D8 standings after "one loop" (5 games) of the 10 game schedule. The Phoenix have put up 232 points while allowing only 86 --- an average margin of victory of nearly 30 PPG. Their closest game was a 45-24 win against St. Mary's earlier this week.
Sarah Schulz poured in 26 points in yesterday's contest, increasing her league-leading scoring average to 23.8 PPG. Marley Niescier added 12 more for Rez, while Rebecca Oosterhof had 5 for Woodland.
In junior, Rez got 18 from Celia McGlynn and (slight more than) doubled-up the Cavs 42-20. Julianna Thompson had 12 for Woodland in defeat.
