D10: Final Results & Standings

Senior

JF Ross 58, Orangeville 17
My Pick:  JFR
The Royals cruise to finish in 3rd place overall (11-3) in the D10 standings after a 58-17 win over ODSS.  Vanessa Martini led the way with 11, while Alexis Dempsey contributed 8.  Tori Quinn led the Bears with 5 points.

Lourdes 34, St. James 32
My Pick:  OLOL
A close call at St. James, though as mentioned here, both teams were firmly locked into their playoff positions.  Colleen McNamara (11) and Kiera Bunnaman (9) had the top Lourdes efforts, while super rookie Erica Zen led the Lions and all scorers with 12.  Jade McGarr also had a nice game for St. James, finishing with 8.

Centre Wellington 64, Centennial 27
My Pick:  CWDHS
You think the Falcons are ready for the playoffs?  They continued their strong play with a blowout win at CCVI.  Erica McFadden had 19 to lead the way in this one while Brenann Francis chipped in 10.  Charlotte Clarke had a double-digit effort for CCVI (10) while teammate Claudia Smith added 9.

Bishop Mac 47, Guelph CVI 35
My Pick:  BMAC
In a potential semifinal preview, the Celtics get the win to close out their regular season.  Logan Lane had 14 to lead the way for BMac, with Rebecca Keil adding 7.  Anne Marie Hood (16) and Lindsay Thompson (12) were the top performers for the Gaels.

Junior

St. James 56, Lourdes 50
In a battle between the top two teams in the league, St. James finishes the season undefeated with a 14-0 record after a home win over Lourdes.  The Gazzola girls were up to their usual ways in scoring the basketball --- Brittany had 21 in this one and Chelsey 19.  Keely McVicar also scored 8 for the Lions.  Monica Trimble (18) led the Crusaders, with Victoria Brombal (13) and Cecilia Hudecki (7) also adding solid outings for Lourdes.

Orangeville 47, JF Ross 37
Got to give props to the ODSS Bears for one of their best seasons in recent memory.  They picked up their 5th win on the year and swept the JF Ross Royals for possibly the first time in D10 history (historians, please help me out here....)?  Claire Fenton (9) and Madison Bratton (8) were the ODSS high scorers on Thursday, while Ross was led by Teddi Taran (11) and Meghan Parkinson (7).

Bishop Mac 44, Guelph CVI 36
A good battle between two teams that will be hosting first-round playoff games goes to the Celtics.  Rebecca Morris had 12 and Sarah Calzonetti 8 for the winners, while GCVI was topped by Jamie Young's 17 points.  Katie Strongman also had double digits (10) for the Gaels.

Centennial 38, CWDHS 21
The Spartans secured 5th spot overall with the win; Hannah Ferguson and Micayley Cromwell had 14 points each to lead CCVI in this one.  Chloe Trapp chipped in 10 of CW's 21 on the night.
