WCSSAA Junior: **Unofficial** Final Results & Standings

I'll throw the "unofficial" tag on there until I get the final word from league sources with regard to tiebreaks.

Here's the rundown from Thursday's final games in the WCSSAA regular season:

Bluevale 52, KCI 32
The Knights finish the regular season at 12-0, and in 1st place (thanks to EDSS topping JHSS on the road).  Sarah Hamm (13) and Hannah Fishbein (12) led the way for Bluevale, while Christiana Koebel had 14 for KCI with Nikaya Snell adding 7.

WODSS 54, Cameron Heights 37
The Crusaders finish their year at 10-2 by topping CHCI.  Becca Payne poured in 19 in the victory, with Madison Horst adding 12.  Ashanti Lewis led the Gaels with 9.

Eastwood 35, Galt 24
Although both teams were out of playoff contention, the Rebs pick up the win in their season finale.  Lori Stankiewicz had another strong effort for ECI (16) while Carissa Grove led Galt with 10.

Southwood 37, Forest Hts. 13
The Sabres secure a first-round home playoff game with a big win on Thursday.  Emily Weaver (13) and Cali Doran (6) led the way for SSS, while Shannon Scott had 4 for FHCI.

Preston 40, Grand River 28
....and why wouldn't Preston win to have three teams at 10-2 and make things difficult for those calculating out the tiebreaks?  PHS' Ashley White poured in a game-high 24 points, while Jamie Noonan (7) and Ana Milanovic (6) led the Rens.

SJAM 42, Glenview Park 37
Jillian Reiter had a team-high 18 points as the Highlanders defeated the Panthers on the road to close their season.  Julia Deakin added 7 for SJAM, while GPSS' Jocelyn Kivell led all scorers with 20.

Elmira 41, Jacob Hespeler 33
An intriguing result down at JHSS knocks the Hawks from the ranks of the undefeated.  Krista Weins was the lone player in double figures, scoring 13 for Elmira, while Tessa Charnuski (8) and Jocey Luber (8) also had solid efforts for EDSS.  Brooklynn Wright and Taylor Dennis scored 8 each for Hespeler.

WCI 34, Huron Heights 24
In a battle for a playoff spot, the Vikes get the big win here.  Misha Singh led WCI with 10, while Sarah Coughlin and Maggie Birch had 7 each.  Jenna Gangl led the Huskies with 8.

Final WCSSAA Junior Standings
1.  Bluevale 12-0
2.  Jacob Hespeler 11-1
3.  Preston 10-2
4.  WODSS 10-2
----------------------
5.  Elmira 10-2
6.  Cameron Heights 8-4
7.  Grand River 7-5
8.  Southwood 6-6
9.  SJAM 5-7
10.  KCI 4-8 (W H2H vs. WCI)
11.  WCI 4-8
12.  Glenview Park 3-9 (W H2H vs. HHHS)
------
13.  Huron Heights 3-9
14.  Eastwood 2-10
15.  Forest Heights 1-11
16.  Galt 0-12

In accordance with WCSSAA tiebreak regulation 5.3.7, if "Team A" beats "Team B", "Team B" beats "Team C" and team "A & B" have not played, then the standings would be "A-B-C".

In this instance, Preston defeated WODSS and WODSS defeated Elmira.  Elmira and PHS did not play.  Therefore, Preston will be awarded 3rd, WODSS 4th, and Elmira 5th --- to the best of my knowledge.

Qualifying Round Playoff Matchups
Byes:  #1 Bluevale, #2 Jacob Hespeler, #3 Preston, #4 WODSS

(5) Elmira vs. (12) Glenview Park
(6) Cameron Heights vs. (11) WCI
(7) Grand River vs. (10) KCI
(8) Southwood vs. (9) SJAM

The teams below will qualify for CWOSSA unless a lower-seeded team in their classification has a better final playoff result.  In the event of a tie (i.e. both teams eliminated at the same stage of playoffs), the "higher ranked" team advances to CWOSSA.

AAA - #2 JHSS, #3 PHS, #4 WODSS
AAAA - #1 Bluevale, #6 Cameron Heights
